Japanese Hair Straightening, also know as Thermal Reconditioning, is the process of the hair being continuously and alternately shampooed, heated, blown out and then flat ironed. The process is repeated continuously until your hair is completely re-textured, giving it a smooth, shiny and sleek look.
The style originated in the late 1990's. The treatment can take anywhere from three to six hours and involves many steps. It's worth having this handled by a professional as there are so many steps involved. You're only asking for trouble if you look for bargains or a inexperienced salon.
The end result should be permanent straightened hair for four to twelve months. After the process is complete, please be sure to follow the hair stylists instructions. One general rule is that you shouldn't let moisture or any perspiration on your head for at least three days. This means no running or exercise as well. A hair strand test should be done first to determine whether your hair can accept the chemicals. The last thing you need is to destroy your hair.

Krista is the make up artist that did my make-up for my wedding. I was so impressed with her that I had her give me a lesson on how to apply it, and what I needed to make it look how she had. It has been 2 months and my makeup is flawless. This is the first time in my life that I have focused on a "make-up" regime and i tell you my wrinkles are less visible and my skin tone is even and glows :) Her first day is Sunday February 5 @ 1:00pm and she's taking up to 6 people and space is filling up fast so call today to book your spot! 403-980-2820

Well the time has come to celebrate :) We are about 99% finshed in the basement and will be having a party to celebrate it and show it off :) The basement has taken us 3.5 months but well worth the wait. It is all I would hoped it would be... I was in portugal and went into a old wine cellar that was converted into a restaurant and was inspired....It looks like a wine cellar with rock, wood and of course steel gates and accents.. theres even a fire place :) It will be home to Frank, Andrew, Ashlee and Angela and of course Franky the pug :) Please stop by for a peek on Jan 21st between 7-10 pm. Come check out our model show October 2, in Nose Creek Park! Amandamazing is doing facepainting, Wizards Waredrobe is doing the costumes and of course were doing the hair! Star Baton is the models and putting on a dance show. So everyone come out and see our mystical fantasy in the park!! :)

number is... $1996.17!! We cut 108 kids hair!! The Food Bank will be putting it to good use in their
RJ Hawkey Breakfast Program and Snack Attack Program! And a HUGE thank you to
ALL our volunteers... with out you the day would not of been
possible. What an AMAZING day!!!

$10 Haircut Day, Helps the Airdrie Food Bank
Airdrie, AB – Sunday August 28th,
2011 - On Sunday, August 28th The Hair Lounge will be opening its doors for the
second annual $10 Hair Cut Day. The salon will be open from 12 – 6pm and
accepting clients on a first come, first serve basis. 100% of proceeds will be
donated to the Airdrie Food Bank, specifically the R.J. Hawkey Breakfast
Program and Snack Attack program.
The salon will have its eight
fabulous stylists working non-stop from 12 – 6pm. The stylists have been
looking for a way to give back to their community and thought what better than
to use their two hands and a pair of scissors. The stylists will be donating
their time which means that every cent that comes in will go straight to the
Airdrie Food Bank.
The Hair Lounge knows that back to
school can be a hard time for many families, and they want all children to
enjoy their school days, it will be focusing on providing cuts for children
from kindergarten to grade 12 to give them a fresh and affordable look for
their new school year. They hope that by making affordable quality cuts, these
children will gain the added confidence to succeed in their upcoming school
year. The Hair Lounge will only be accepting cash payments and in addition
there will also be a donation box for those individuals who would like to make
an extra contribution. Non perishable food donations will also be accepted.
There will be hotdogs and drinks for
sale, all provided by the Airdrie Food Bank, as well as raffle tickets for
fabulous prizes. The children will also be able to enjoy face painting and some
time in a bouncy castle.
The Hair Lounge chose the Airdrie
Food Bank, as this year’s organization because of the work it does for the community.
Over the last school year the R.J. Hawkey Breakfast program provided over 5000
breakfasts! While the Snack Attack program provided nutritious snacks to over
16 schools in the Rockyview area. Nutrition is crucial to our children’s
success in school and the Airdrie Food Bank helps to support our children’s
nutrition and growth through these programs.

  Very Exciting Day. We did 89 haircuts in 6 hrs with 8 stylists rotating chairs, 1 Cosmo student and an assistant washing hair. Volunteers from Community links serving hot dogs and Wendy Contant helping out with the raffle. My receptionist extraordinaire – Kate, creatively organizing chaos. It was a day to remember and I’m very proud of my staff and all the volunteers and I look forward to the next $10 dollar hair cut day. Thank you to the Echo, Scoop, Cityview and Range for promoting it and being here to take photos and thanks to our wonderful Mayor Mr. Peter Brown for participating. Stay tuned for a day in the late summer early fall. Thanks again

The salon will have eight senior stylists working non-stop from 1pm – 7pm, along with the help of two cosmetology students from Bert Church High School. The stylists have been looking for a way to give back to their community and thought what better than to use their two hands and a pair of scissors. The stylists will be donating their time which means that every cent that comes in will go straight to Community Links. The Hair Lounge will only be accepting cash payments and in addition there will also be a donation box for those individuals who would like to make an extra contribution. This day also gives everyone in Airdrie the opportunity to get a professional hair cut at a great price.
Community Links was one of the first organizations that came to mind when creating this event. The organization does not target just one type of individual, but rather the entire family, and this is not just an organization the stylists have read about but rather have experienced firsthand. This is their way of saying thanks for everything Community Links has done for Airdrie and the community.
